Yassy T. is a queer, nonbinary singer-songwriter and poet, crafting tender songs about sapphic love and the largeness of life. Blending folk melodies with intimate storytelling, their music evokes the essence of a hopeless romantic.
Yassy began performing in 2017, showcasing original songs at small gigs across Metro Manila. In 2019, they independently released Sour Love and Naive Lover, taking these songs at Jess and Pat’s as a budding artist. By the end of that year, Yassy signed a three-year deal with Odd Vinyl Records, debuting their hit single Good Morning, Love in January 2020. Further releases include Fifteen Hundred Moons, New Heart (ft. Dan Tristan), and Stormkiss (2022).
During the pandemic, Yassy honed their craft, joining Jim Paredes’ songwriting workshops and Philpop’s first remote bootcamp in 2021, where they learned from top Filipino songwriters. Now fully independent under The Clownery Collective, Yassy continues to explore poetry, zine-making, and illustrations back in their hometown, Cebu.
