Classically trained at the Trinity College Of Music in London, pianist and composer ildio embarked on a successful career in jazz, headlining at Ronnie Scott's and performing on Grammy-nominated records.
During the height of the pandemic, ildio began reading the 'The Power Of Now' (Eckhart Tolle), a book which resonated strongly with him amid the global lockdown. The powerful words inspired him to create calming solo piano works, almost as a meditative practice.
With over 50 million streams to date, and support from the likes of BBC Introducing and BBC Radio 3, ildio's music has connected with a growing audience of listeners seeking music for mindfulness.
His tracks are written as one-take improvisations, composed by simply sitting down at the piano and letting inspiration strike. “Improvisation is essentially an artistic, sonic manifestation of a present moment capatured” he explains, “and that awareness of the present moment is what the ildio project is all about.”
